Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lincourt were very pleasantly siftys \\\\ to hear from Rouses Pointers now vacationing in distant parts of the country who had reladltn the North Countryman recently of their accident and contacted them by letter. Letters came from Arizona, Florida and other distant points. The Lineourts, who were struck by a car while crossing the road on Maple St., are improving. Mrs. Lincourt is able to be out and Mr. Lincourt is getting around on crutches. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Horner left recently to visit relatives in South Carolina. Also in that state visiting are Mr. and Mrs. Walter Powers. Vacationing in Florida are Mr. and Mrs. Emil Mayer and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Roth and in Arizona are Mr. and Mrs. Rossiter Casey. A nice note from Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Hillegas, who are now living at New Smyrna Beach, Fla. since leaving R.P. almost two years ago. They still love their new location and have enjoyed visits from so many of their North Country friends who have called on them. They add that they enjoy reading about news and happenings in the N.C. and wish there could be more. Betty Leggett has returned from the hospital following treatment. Also returned home is Robert Carey, 17V2 months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Carey; Mr. Lyman Beeman, and Sam Bartram. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hard and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hard of Arlington, Vt- and. Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Taylor and children of Essex, Vt. visited Mrs. Helen Fitts at the Medical Center. Born a son, Chad Howard, Feb. 3,1973 at the CVPH Medical Center, Piatlsburgh, to Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Alger of Church St., Rouses Point. A note from Mrs. Carl Finkenbinder of Massena says that they are having the same odd weather that we have been having in this area. One from Mrs. John Fournier of Middle- town informs us that Marion Forgays Ryan, a former resident here, now of Syracuse, recently suffered a heart attack there while shoveling snow. McKinney, son of Mr. Arthur McKinney and the late Mrs. Rose McKinney. The bride-elect is a 1971 graduate of Northeastern Clinton Central School and is employed in the Qualify Control Dept. at Ayerst Laboratories, Inc., Rouses Point. Her fiance graduated from Chazy Central in 1972 and is employed in the Receiving Dept. at Ayerst Laboratories, Inc. Although the boys are \look-alikes\ they are not .twins. George is presently stationed at Camp LeJeune, N.C. and Kevin is now stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif. The two brothers are both 1971 graduates of Northeastern Clinton Central School and both enlisted in the Marine Corps immediately following graduation, and both received their basic training at Parris Island, S.C. George was later transferred to Camp LeJeune where he is now serving with the transporta- tion unit. Kevin, following basic, received special combat attend and those who just plain like food will be interested to learn that a Food Sate will be held in conjunction with the supper. Mr. Rutherford is a former Rouses* Pointer. ANTOINETTE OLNEY Mrs. Antoinette Olney, 75 of 21 Academy St., Rouses Point died early Sunday, Feb. 4,1973 at the CV/ PH Medical Center, Plattsburgh. She was the widow of Lewis Olney and was born Aug. 29,1897 in Napierville, Que., daughter of Avila and Olive (Massey) Le Blanc. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Bette) Mero and Mrs. Mary Lou Favreau, both of Rouses Point; four sisters, Mrs. Garland (Catherine) Bralsted of Salisbury, Mass., Mrs. Margaret LaVenture and Mrs. Russell (Loretta) Pilger, both of Rouses Point, and Mrs. Sandor (Irene) Palfalby of Birmingham, Ala. Also surviving are six grand- children, Mrs. Merrie Nautel, Marc Mero and Hal Mero, Guy L. Favreau, Stephen Favreau and Elizabeth .Mero, all of Rouses Point, and one great- grandson, Matthew Mero of Rouses Point. ANNA PALMER Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Palmer were held Monday at 10 a m at St Mary • Church Champiatn. me^Rev, Andrew Mufvaney; Assistant Pastor, officiated.. Bearers were Gary Palmer, Gerald Trombley, Robert Trombley, Arthur LaPine, Gerard Juneau and Roger Baker. The body was placed in St. Mary's Cemetery vault to await burial later. Mrs. Palmer, 93, of Cham- plain, died at the Cedar Hedge Nursing Home.in Rouses Point Feb. 1, 1973. She was born in Coopersville Oct. 3, 1879 daughter of Joseph and Marie (Gilman) Morin. She is survived by her husband, Albert; two sons, Orville and Morris of Cham- plain; two daughters, Mrs. William (Hazel) Mandigo of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Gus (Mamie) Weber of Deer- field Beach, Fla.; also eight grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren. SPORTSMEN'S CLUB The Rouses Point Sportsmen's Club will hold a Fish Chowder and Fish Fry for members and prospective members on Feb. 16 at 6i30p.m. at Armond^s Place, Pratt St., Rouses Point. The committee in charge says those attending can have all they can eat and for free! Anyone wishing to join the club will have the opportunity to obtain membership cards at the door. At Christmas time he was on leave and visited his parents, and a family reunion made it possible for the two brothers to get together again and get caught up on each other's activities. On Dec. 22 George was married to the former Donna Lawton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lawton of Albany. The wedding was held at St. Mary's Church, Champlain with the Rev. Andrew Mulvaney officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Gamache of Champlain were attendants for the couple. George and Donna are now living in Jacksonville, N.C. cording to Pete La Fontaine, Club Secretary, will be the pre- senting of cash awards and trophies to the winners of this year's Fishing Contest. In the Junior Division there are four winners who will receive recognition and awards; they are Gary Milosovich, Bruce Bernard, Craig DeBeaumont and Danny MacCallum. In the Adult Division winners are John Bombardier, Gordon Mossey (three wins), William Barcomb, Gordon Ashwood, Francis Gebo and Keith Wright. The presentation of awards will be at 8 p.m. and all the winners are requested to be present. On Tuesday, Feb. 20, the Club will hold its Annual Meeting and election of officers. The Sportsmen's Club here is one of the largest organizations, in the area with over 500 members, and future plans are for the possible erection of a club house on the Sportsmen's Pier to serve as a meeting place. Among the many projects the club participates in is the Annual Barbeque on the Pier, Pheasant raising, Hunter Safety Course and Annual.Fishing Contest.
