Mr. Kraft is employed at Ayerst Laboratories, Inc. Mrs. Richard LaPierre has re- turned home from the Champlain Valley Hospital. Mrs. Fern Crouse has returned from Fort Pierce, Fla. where she spent the winter. Her two pet poodles, Ti Lou and Puffy are the proud parents of a new si- rival, Ti-Min, who is now two months old and as cute as a button. ' ~* ***** *** book Dodge Memorial Library is a proud tribute to its benefactor. Dr. Daniel G. Dodge, who Be- queathed funds for the library which was founded in his mem- ory in 1904. Mrs. Arthur Trombley, who has been librarian for the past four years, should be credited for sparking the existing interest in reading that her increased regis- trations show. She has said that without the cooperation and help of the Village Board and the Board of .Trustees of the Library, she could not have met the prob- lems of the library. Members of the library board are Mrs. David Strong, president} Milo Marnes, vice president; Arthur Trombley, treasurer; Mrs. Harold Mero, trustee; Mrs, Arthur Trombley, secretary andW.R. Casey, trust- ee. It is evident that Mrs. Trombley loves Jher work. The judgment inflection, of her sincerity and courtesy proves her professional ability as a li- brarian. The week of April 18 to 23 was National Library Week and Mrs. Convention to be held in Syra- cuse from May 24 through May 26 was made. An up to date bulletin board meets the public in the entrance hall where titles of new books are posted. Facing the door in the entrance hall are framed refugee tract maps'dating back to 1793, presented by the local Kivjanis Club. The light and cheerful main room of the library is enhanced by the colorful displays of books, especially books to invite the young reader. Mrs, Trombley believes our future citizens should be started to read at an early age and has displays in various phases of education to interest the children. They are interested too, she says, and she has many children who are avid readers. Featured in the main area are displays for teen-agers who are spending more and more time at the Mbrary. ivlrs.
