The snow is quickly disappear- ing from the countryside and the farmers welcome the April Show- ers. Warm, Aprilrainf alls gently down Upon the piles of snow, It melts the ice, disperses it And grass begins to show. It trickles down the thin dry twig, To thicker branch beneath, The vagranv wist swirls 'mid the trees And wraps each in its sheath. The constant beat upon the roof The trickle dawn the pane, Are evidence without a doubt Of sweet refreshing rain. Through many days of test severe When courage almost fails When strength is sapped, tempers are frayed The evil one assails. We can in faith lift up our hearts For Holy Spirit power For like the earth's refreshing rain God sends the blessed shower The thirsty souls, ice locked so long Can drink and live again, The hindrances are washed away Thank God for Heavenly rain.
