Jim Bedard, Operation Friend- ship Committee Chairman, ar- ranged the event which started when a contingent of Plattsburgh Jaycees, Senator Ron Stafford and Sheriff Ducatte met the Ca- nadians at the Rouses Point Border of IberVilieand several aldermen from the two cities, who were a- mong the guests at City Hall. After his welcoming s peech, Mayor Stettzet invited the guests into. City Hall where the visiting Mayors signed the guest book. The Canadian Jaycees were thentaken on a guided tour of Plattsburgh State University College and Plattsburgh Air Force Base. The tour was followed by a cocktail hour at the Gran-Vue Restaurant and 250 Jaycees and guests were present for the buffet dinner at 6:30 p. m. Guests at the evening festivities included Mayor Steltzer, St. Jean Mayor McMilland and Iberville Mayor Armand Goyette, COl, Dy- singer, P.A.F.B. Commander, Assemblyman Louis Wolfe, Sheriff Emmett Ducatte and Gil Duken, ,. .. - Jy Jack Cogte, accepted tite gifts and reciprocated by giving the Canadian Jaycees a souvenir cup. The Canadian Mayors then presented certificates of honorary citizenship to Mayor Steltzer, who, in turn, presented each with Am- bassador of Goodwill certificates and gifts of paper products from local industries.
