Mrs. Busse was a member of St. M a ry’s Cathedral Parish City and the Rosary Society of that parish. She was also a member of the Alumnae Association of the Metropolitan Hospital, New York City. Goodell h a s re iterated his stand that “Head q u a r ters for th e St. Law rence Seaway should rem a in in M assena.” W h en Senator Goodell learned that Governor Jam e s A. Rhodes of Ohio had urged th e Seaway Corporation be m o v e d from Massena to Cleveland, h e recalled t h a t as recently as th is spring h e had w ritten to Transportation Secretary Jo h n A. V o lpe to strongly oppose any reloca tio n of the office. “The Seaway is an in tern a tio n a l w aterway,” he pointed out, “and th e United States headquarters should be as contiguous as possible to the Canadian office.” He pointed o u t that th e C a n a d ian. office in Cornwall are less than two m iles from Massena, and th a t O gdensburg is th e first American p o r t on th e Sea way. “All the U.S, facilities for t h e Seaway are located in Massena, an d the corpora tion’s 160 employes m u s t be retained a t this location. These em p loyes deal with docking of ships, personnel, legal m a tters and operations. I t is unrealistic to th in k that these functions could be per form ed effectively in Cleve land,” he said. “Governor Rhodes also said that Cleveland is the first m a jor p o r t inland from the Seaway,” th e senator said “and it is difficult for m e to understand how the Gover nor could fo rg e t that the N iagara Frontier Port A u thority is in Buffalo, N.Y.” Tonight Is Boys’ Club Parents-ln Tonight is Parents’ Night at B„ys’ Club Camp.
