APA officials confer with planners about upcoming Adirondack Club review continued from page 1 information- which we may or may not do- there may be new information\ introduced to the plan. He said that the idea of a joint review of the project by the APA and the local planners \is to stay parallel as we move forward.\ Mr. Sengenberger explained the agency's complex hearing process, which precedes any permit issuance. The APA could be an \observer\ in the town's public bearing on the Adirondack Club and Resort project. \Or the APA board could hold a legislative hearing to gather public input,\ he continued. The third option would be a formal adjudicatory hearing, conducted by an administrative law judge, where sworn testimony is taken and a formal record is developed. By law, such a proceeding would have to commence within 60 days of the time the developers' application is deemed complete. In that event too, the board of commissioners would make its decision on only the information presented at the' adjudicatory bearing. As part of that process, neighbors, local governments, environmental groups, etc. can all become \parties\ in the hearing process, he told the planning board members. \In addition to introducing information, these processes involve cross examinations, witness testimony, etc. ...It can become very complicated, particularly if there are many issues and many parties involved.\ By agency law, the board would be obligated to come to a decision within 6 0 days after the final record of the bearing was sent to the agency, he explained. He added that his board makes the decision whether or not to convene an adjudicatory At the close of the presentation, Planning Board Chairman Jim Larkin commented that be believed the joint review \was going to prove to be very educational before it's all doner Salvation Army Red Kettle drive begins here on Nov. 17 This year die Salvation Army needs you more than ever. Her husband is now employed at Paul Smith's College and the couple resides in Saianac Lake. \A friend notified him of an opening at Paul Smith's and it was a done deal,\ she smiled. \I began sending my resume to all the hospitals in the area and here lam!\ she smiled. \It's great! By living in Saianac Lake, my husband and I sort of meet in the middle!\ Dr. Lilly quickly turns serious when she speaks of her patients, saying everyone she has met has been very warm and receptive. \Every one of them is so appreciative for what I do. I've worked all over, and in many big hospitals but this area is unique in the way people welcome new faces.\ When asked what her hobbies are now that she's a permanent resident of the Adirandacks, Dr. Lilly chuckled and said, \I really have to mink about that!\ She did eventually confide she loves science fiction and gardening and just plain relaxing. \I could say I love downhill skiing and I've always wanted to try out for the Olympics, but that wouldn't work once they see me,\ she laughed. As the mother of two children, now college students in Seattle, Washington, Dr. Lilly determined that once you have children and a busy work schedule, you just don't have time for hobbies. \And once they're grown up and gone and you have extra time for yourself, you find you just don'l want to bother doing anything new.\ \This is my space!\ she beamed, waving to the health center in general. \I 'm here four days a week and 1 do admissions at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saianac Lake, but mis is where my patients are and no matter what their needs are, they're die ones I'm interested in.
