Just making sure your child has breakfast in the morning, that he or she has had enough sleep the night before, that your child has quiet time and a place to study, and that you support school work as a priority, can go a long way toward assuring educational success. To build on this theme of \Simple Works\ the Tupper Lake Middle School and LP Quinn invite parents and other interested family members to attend the second annual First Day Celebration Lake. Both artists currently have work on display in the Guild Gallery and in a group show at the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts in Blue Mountain Lake. Participants in the workshop may use whatever art materials they choose - oils, acrylics, watercolors - but Hiidreth and Brossard will both be working with oils. A portable easel is strongly suggested. The grounds surrounding the Wawbeek will be the subject matter for the artists and they will work directly from nature, in the \plein air\ style. Participants should bring a lunch, or may opt to attend the outdoor barbecue offered by the Wawbeek. Advance registration is required and the workshop will be limited to 15 participants. Please cail or stop in at the Adirondack Artists Guild Gallery, 77 Main St., Saranac Lake, 518-891-2615 to register.
