Emergency Squad logs 6 week-end ambulance calls Tupper Lake's Emergency Squad responded to a half-dozen ambulance calls over the past week-end. At 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3, Steven Gonyea, Emma St., was taken to Mercy General Hospital. On Friday, April 4 at 8 a.m. Gerald Chabot, 130 Ivy Terrace, was transported to the Tupper hospital. At 12:23 a.m. Saturday, April 5, Judy Valentine was transferred from Mercy General to Saranac General Hospital. At 8:30 Sunday, April 6, Jerry Vaillancourt, 12, sustained back injuries in a fall on the sidewalk in front of Roy's Restaurant, and was taken to Mercy General, and an hour later, transferred to Saranac Lake General Hospital. At 8:10 p.m. Sunday Tina Jessie, 17 Prospect St., was transported to Saranac Lake General Hospital. (Bigrow Photo) Former Tupper girl is awarded $5,000 Stephanie Cootware, daughter of Harold and Lillian Cootware of Cape Coral, Fla., formerly of Tupper Lake, has made an enviable scholastic record at North Fort Myers High School, where she is a senior. Miss Cootware placed second in the Lee County Regional Science and Engineering Fair, for which she was awarded a $50 savings bond and a bronze citation. She also qualified to participate in the Florida State Fair, held at Tallahassee, in competition with more than 400 students from throughout the state. In the state competition, held March 26-29, she was awarded second and third Named Pierce field dog control officer Armon Hollingsworth Jr., 27 Waller St., Piercefield, has been appointed dog control officer for the Town of Pier- cefield. He will be enforcing the new dog laws enacted by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. Piercefield board meeting postponed The regular meeting of the Town board, Town of Piercefield, scheduled for Tuesday, April 8, has been postponed to Tuesday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. at the town hall in that village.
