The young lady was advised to say nothing to her host if while on a visit she should find her bed in- habited with Innumerable little nulaances, She should confide it to the chamber maid and\not rlak making her hostess her life- long enemy. Probably in the days of 1850 pies were he-man affairs for the advioe was \Do not eat pie alone with a fork but utilise a knife to eat It in small pieces.\ A girl was expected to have a spaxe pin or two so that when eating she could pin her nap- kin to her belt. A real piece of sound advice which has be- come extinct was for a girl when going out on a pariy to insist on paying her own ticket and thus be under no obligations to her gentleman friend,. No doubt In. 1850 these stales were observed about as well as the present code is followed today.
