Lawmakers Easzly Beat THE JUDGE. SOLONS WALLOP. THREE HURLERS FOR 6102 WIN Reiger, Snover and | Tillman Used, But Senators Pro- = duce Many Hits.. (Special to The Argus.) Pittsfield, July 10.-Bill Mc- Corry outfitted his Lawmakers in their batting togs today, sent * them into their battle with Joe . Birmingham's | Pittsfield Hillies with instructions to \knock the hide off the pill,\ and after nine ' innings had elapsed, led them off the field victors by a score of 6 to 2. Reiger and Tillman, two of the three twirlers used by the Hillies to stem the onrush of the ~- Albanians proved little or no help for their offerings were knocked 'to all corners of the lot, in fact Tillman's mound was of 'such poor class, that the game took on a humorous asp’ect after he had served one mmng on the firing Hine. Harrington, who served them up for the Senators, held the Hil- Hes in. check at all times, \allow- ing them but five hits. . He was supported in qreni: style, not one érror being chalked up. against the York State outfit. The Senators started the scoring the fuitial frame. AMeCorry had grounded out and toole third on Dameron's.two base smash over Bosse's head, Baker sent a torrid sin- wgle to right field, scorIng. Donohue, Dam- gron tried to score on the hit but was pipped at the plate, Tillman to Hayden, Teary grounded to Reiger, ending the inning. > Hillies Take Lead. . * The homa town boys took the lead in the third stanza. Bosse drew n pass and stole second. Hayden doubled to center, ' scoring Bosse. While Siventt .was throw- Ing out Reiger, Hayden: took 'thirdland scored on Adam's single. | Adams' stole second nnd went to third on Tillman's Infield ont; but Cnpes fied to Leary. ._ The Senatorial nggregation put the «game on. fee In <the seventh,. Damron and Baker were: gifted when Reiger was $f nnahlp to locate the platter, Leary lnill a perfect sacrifice but Hammond threw | $# wild to first, Dameron scoring on Baker reaching third onythe crror, | Brauson's sacrifice fly scored Baker, Leary scored when Bweatt doubled to. left feld. > . Reiger was replaced by Snover nt this \point and put the Senators out in order, Ie was taken out in the cighith inning to nllon a pinch hitter at bat; Get Some More. Not content with this much, Manager Bill sent his warriors after a few more runs in the ninth. Tillman was called in from right field by Manager Birminnhnmpnd Walsh took his place. The rollicking Hilly twirler|} was in for a,tough time for the Solons hopped on hin until the gome looked [sy more like a cireus than a league contest, With one gone Larry doubled to left. Brausen hit to Bates who. threw poorly to first, allowing Leary to score and Brausen to take second. Sweatt received a free ticket. Prediger's single scored Brausem and sent Sweatt to thind. Har rington was passed, filling the tnclfl but Manager McCorry ended the inning and the scoring fiesta by hitting into n double play, Bates to Hammond. The Senators looked better today than they did in their last few trips to this city. 'They had enough pep to withstand rallies on the part of the Hillies and were trying hand at all times They were there with the wagon tongue also, stepping in mnd taking a good cnt at the ball and hitting more hard ones than r the box score shows.
