motion of M r. John G. Sturges, unanimously resolved that the mechanics of Poughkeepsie should be repre sented in the State Convention, and that the chair man should select a committee of seven to retire and report s chairman named Peter P . Hayes, Isaac P latt, Stepheft R . Harris, Thomas Haight, Robert B. Panning, Ben son J . Lossing and James Williamson to compose that committee. The committee, after a short consultation, reported the names of E gbert B. Killey, Isaac Platt, Benson J . Lossing and Alexander J. Its siniphciiy of construction, and the case with which it operates, have generally given farmers the fullest confidence in its being the best now ill use. They would furher slate, that limy made sevenly-seven of the above Machines last year, and sold them ; that out of that number about a dozen were cast at the Matto- awan foundry, in Fishkill. In consequence of some dif ficulty arising from tlio former castings,the subscribers were induced lo try other castings, and tho latter have SO completely anstvered the purpose that they can with (he fullest confidence make assurance that they will be durable. They have one out of the above dozen cast at the Maleawaii factory, with which they went a- round and thrashed over si.x thousand buslicls, which did not cost six cents expense in repairs, and the ma chine is nothing more than wore bright.
