The-Rome Sentinel commends an arti- cle to its readers which it copies from the N. Y. Daily News, and says, it goes over the whole ground, aud places the duty of Democratic press in such a clf-ar light, that it would seem almost superfluous fet- us to add anything. The fact is so noto- rious that the Republicans take much greater pains tc sustain their papers and to give their papers circulation, that it is useless tor us to mention it. There is scarce- ly a villagj or town in the State, where there are not stirring men, active Republi- cans busy at work, getting up clubs tor Tribune, or their local county Re- publican paper. Are the Democrats tak- ing such a course with their papers ? Democrats take an interest in increasing the circulation of the democratic papers ? Do they work with that zeal and energy, as do Republicans, for Rcpublicampapers ? There.are some Democrats who under- stand this matter aright, and do their whole duty ; whilst there are others, who are grossly delinquent, eithefbecanse they don't care, or because they do not appre- the importance of the subject. Let our Democratic friends cast about them and see how many men calling themselves Democrats who are taking the Tribune or some other Repr.liean paper who refuses a.few months .since,-has-written her conr- denrhatio'n\ of'their principle?.\ In Michi- gan, thousands have deserted-their stand- ard, ««d th» Democracy will soon fully triuuiph in that State.
