At an Election held at Florida, Montgomery Co. on the 18th October last, Doct. ISAAC M. Notwithstanding the division of the repub lican party, in consequence of certain local prejudices against Col. Young,—-notwithstanding the circulation of the most defamatory handbills, & c .~th e united efforts of the federalists, disaffected politicians, no party men, &c. Clinton only obtained a majority of 142. How does this tally with their calculations ? Because -we have been decided in our support of Col. Young and democratic principles without regard to the probable result ofthe election, the little faction of Clinton in this county, attribute to IIS motives which they well know have never actuated us.
