Poncr, 82, of 8358 Har- \vood Drive, Lacona, died recently at ihe House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, where she was admitted Novemcbcr 5 after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the Summcrville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Melvyh S. Con-. ,4iell, pastor of the Sandy Creek Wesleyan Church, officiating. Contributions may be made to the Sandy<€rcck Wesleyan Church. Surviving are three stepdaughters, Mrs. Elsie Muniz, Medford, Oregon; Mrs. Lila Scordino, Vestal; and Mrs. Iva Mortenson, Johnson City; a step- son Maurice Portcr,Barnesville,S.C.; a sister, Mrs. Conrad (Lila) Ericson, North Chili; a brother, Donald Ames, Marion, Ind.; and several step-grand- children. -* A brother, Charles Douglas Ames,* died before her. Born June 26, 1908, in Morris- town, daughter of Charles and Ina Chase Ames, she graduated from Sandy Creek High School and Houghton College, where she got her teaching degree.She taught school for 25 years at Barnes Corners, Redfield, and Stillwater, and retired from Orwell School. She married Harrison E. Porter June 26, 1952. The couple lived all their married life on Demott St., Lacona. Mr Porter died November 7, 1981, at the age of 87. After his death Mrs. Porter moved to 8358 Harwood Driveto live with MrsJ3icia Whipple. She was a board member and Sunday School teacher at the Sandy Creek Wesleyan Church and a mem- ber of the New York State Retired Teachers Association. Margaret E. Perry Margaret E. Perry, 55, of 3623 Amber Road, Syracuse, formerly of Pulaski, died recently from cancer. She ahd been ill for two years. Funeral Sevices were held in Onondaga Valley Presbyterian Church, 275 W. Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, with the Rev. Virginia B. Nowack officiating. Burial was in the Onondaga Valley Cemtery. Arrange- ments were by die SummerviUe Fu- neral Home, Sandy Creek. She married Byron N. Perry Au- gust 15,1952, in Central Square. Verna A. Armstrong ALTMAR - Verna A. Armstrong, of 9334 Mexico St. has been buried in Evergreen Cemetry in Orwell. Mrs. Armstrong, 68., who died on Nov. 6, was a life resident of Altmar and an active member of that community. A member of the Altmar River- side United Methodist Church, she was involved with the auxiliary of the Russell Tryon Post, American Legion. She was employed with Oswego County Mutual Insurance Co. of Parish and has also worked for Better Farms Publishing, Altmar High School, as well as serving as the village clerk for several years. She was a 1939 graduateof Altmar High School and attended Central City Business Institute in Syracuse. Suriving are: her husband, Arnold E.; son David A. of Potsdam; daugh- ters, Carole E. Dana of Orwell and Merilec A. Heath of Parker-, Colo.; brother, James B. Barnard Jr. of Altmar; two sisters, Clara Crim of Tallahassce,Fla. andEleanorGillette of Rochester; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. E. Elva Stuckey-Mitchell CAMDEN - Services were held at Sanborn-McDanicls and LaRobardi- ere Funeral Home last month for E. Elva Stuckey-Mitchell, Mrs.'Mitch- ell died Nov. 16 in her home where she suffered from a heart attack. She has been buried in St. John's Ceme- tery. As a home health care aide in the Camden area, and although a native of Wilimington, N.C., she was active^ member of the community including\ Little league/ bowling and other community activities. She graduated from Camden High School in 1958 shortly after moving to the area as a teenager. Contribution may be made to the Camden Rotary Christmas Basket Fund. William H. Redden ALTMAR - The service for Wil- liam H. Redden, 68, of South Albion Rd. was held last month at Foster- HaxPuneral Home. Mr. Redden died onNoy. 17 at University Hospital. He was burled in Rivereside Ceme- tery, Alunar. A Pulaski native, Mr. Redden at- tendedpulaski districtschools. More recently he resided in Altmar and Richland for several years, as wellas having been employed by Tico Irri- gation Co. in Williamstown.
