Episcopalians invite Guryevs to Christmas Dinner Members of St. James Episcopal Church in Pulaski have invited the, Guryev family, newly arrived from the Ukraine, to visit their parish this coming Sunday, December 16. Those organizing the visit are hoping that parishioners can get to know the Gyfyevs and that the visi- tors Will feel welcome in their fellow- ship and worship. ^ ^^jT^JaBH^wlIrf^e brought to the 10 a.m. Liturgy of Holy Eucharist, Rite Two. TheRector, theRev. Rich- ard Caly, will welcome them -during the service. Following the worship, the Gu- ryevs will be asked to participate ifi the annual Christmas dinner at the parish. This is a potluck supper, with each family bringing a dish to pass. After the dinner, there will be traditional Christmas and Advent. Carols around the piano. It is hoped that the Guryevs will offer some of the seasonal music frOm their native land. St. James Vestry to Meet The Vestry (governing board) of St. James Episcopal Church will have its monthly meeting this Thursdayat 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall of the church. This is a change from the usual Wednesday evening garnering and was made necessary by conflicts in the schedules of several members. The meeting will be a time to examine outreach, budgeting for the new year, worship and evangelism. Bringing Joy to Shut-Ins 'it is again that time of year when service organizations prepare to help Others enjoy Christmas. An annual event will take place Dec. 20 Ihisyear. This is a joint effort ofthePulasktLionsClub.thePulaski ServiceClub and thePulaski Central School Elementary Chorus. At 6 p.m. the group will leave the Lura Sharp Sehool to visit the local adult homes to sing carols, deliver fruit baskets, furnished by the Lions Club, and a gift for each resident supplied by the Service Club. The entire operation will be supervised by Santa Glaus. On Dec. 22, the Lions will visit die homesof over lOOneedyfamilies delivering food for Christmas dinner and toys for children through age 17.
