IMIMHTANT TO HoATMBN'.—TIlO Wtl- icr of t'no ennuis ill tliia Statu wci'u drawn off April 5tli, nnd will not bo lot in again until Mny 5ll>. Ouit STBKKI-H.—Struct Commissioner Arthur, with his \ hot- niul sliovol brig- ade,\ isihtft putting our sti-coU in onkr again. 3ii7\Thi» annual iru-cUntf ot tliu Black Kivcr Conference will bo held in Syrn- cuse, commencing (to-morrow) April 18th. .._ FOUND.—The remains of Geo. \V. Nimocks, a much esteemed freemason of Watertown , who was drowned in Black river several months ago, and for the recovery of whoso body largo re- ward s were at the time offered, were found last week in the flume of the An- gell Mills, the body in an uumarred con- dition, excepting the face, which was somewhat bruised. REMOVAL.—Sixbury & Skinner have removed their stock of boots and shoes to Kellogg's store, a part-of which they are going t o occupy tho coming summer. Give them a call in their new quarters. A CUSAN SHAVE.—-II. Shranb keeps keen razors, as any one who has been ishaved b y him will testify. His old patrons well know what skillfnlness he displays and what satisfaction he gives, therefore we say, call on Shraub, ye who would make a clean appearance.— Ladies and children can have hair cut- ting done in a superior manner, at this shop. Don' t forget tha t Shraub has always given satisfaction. BE ON GUARD.—Onr exchanges are prolific with burglaries committed, 10- eently. The next we learn may be of a rush upon our own quiet villages of the county. We have been so little vis- ited with these gentry of late that care- lessness in keeping entrances to our buil- dings closed may be said to be general. These visitors seldom give warning, «nd we may, like villages alluded to, wake some morning to find ourselves relieved of what, with care, might not have been molested. Burglars usually reconnoitcr different dwellings, before making any attempt, and if your entran- ces are.not secure you may be their victim. But the mightiest effort we have ever been called upon to notice was \laid\' in our case yester- day, by a man—w e presume originally, however, it was laid by a hen, its extra- odinary size, notwithstanding. GAMBEIX' S LABOR-SAVINU WASHING MACHINE.—This is the name of a wash- ing machine recently brought out, and •which is claimed—rightly, too, in our opinion—to be the most perfect machine of the kind now in use. It is now be- ing introduced into this vicinity, and meets with great favor by all who have used or seen it in operation. It is sim- ple in its construction, easily worked, does not injure cloth, as most other washers do, and accomplishes more work in one hour than can be done by hand in a whole day. One of these machines can be seen at. the Bostwiek House, or a t tho shop of Mr. Albert Eldrcd, where the machines are being put up, or at the store of G. W . Fowler. The public are invited to call and examine these machines. They will be sold only upon the condition that they meet the entire approbation of the purchaser, after b<?ing thorough- ly tried. Parties can purchase upon these conditions at any time. We feel t o recommend these machines. One thing is net tain—our wife shall have one, and wo hear of a number more having been spoken for. Patronize so good a thincr for your wife's sake, nnd our friend Mr. Porte r will not be of- fended. He intends starting a manu- factory of these machines at or near Constablevillo soon, so as to accomnio- •date the south part of tho county. Mr. Poller is the constituted agent of Mr. J. M. Parsons, of Syrncuso, for the sale of all the northern counties, or for Southern and Western States, and will sell to parties al living rates. No one need be timid about buying this right for any county or State. There is money in so good a thing to any man or company who will make a thor- ough business of it. Eiitorprising'incn need not stand aloof.
