THE C ORRECTOR; SAG-HARBOR , L. I. ' - SA TURDAT , MAT 12, 1883 , MAU-ABOITT-TOWlf It . -was pleasing to hear the Pastor of the Presb yterian Church say last Sunday that the music of the Church during the past year was unsurpassed outside of the larger cities. This is a well merited , if not tard y, compliment to a co-ordinate department of the Church service which has be e n fu ll y appreciated b y the con- gregation. The proposition to abandon the side- sittings and \hug up \ in the body of the Church does not meet with general fa- vor. — The magnetic influence of closer p h ysical contact may be inspiring, but the conservative taste of life-long atten- dants must be regarded. B y the b y, M. A. T. hears much talk in church circles. There is a pervading uneasy sp irit and the question is how shall it be satisfied or gratified. The E p iscopalians think they want or oug ht to have a new sanctuary. The Presb y- terians are realizing the fact that they have more than they need. In worldl y affairs men sometimes prosp er b y a sys- tem of exchanges. This proposition was mooted in our healing. The Romanists seem to be the most prosperous societ y financiall y, and most numerous. Let them buy the \tall steep le. \ L et the Presb yterians make a trade with the E p iscopalians and go back to their old quarters where they started , and were more prosperous than ever since. The latter mi g ht make c,a deal\ with the R. C' s. or build a little chapel of their own , an d St An d re w ' s mig ht be changed into the needed Educational institute. This is the proposition of a worldl y sin- ner , and neither false pride nor prejudice stands in the way, but of course it will be shocking. — ¦ —- ¦ &-< Q» -q ^\ O EDINATION - —A council consisting of thirty Bap tist Churches , of which Rev.
