Several correspondents from the seat of war assert, aid apparently en pretty good authori- ty, that the rebels at Bull's Run were seized with a sudden panio at the same time that qu r troops fled from the ground, and that tha for- mer fled helter skelter behind their entrench- ments at Manassas and there remained nntil it was.too late to pursue our flying battalions. The rebels did not understand our retreat at all, but they had suflered heavy losses, and when our men commenced running they re- garded it as some extraordinary military evo- lution which threatened them with mischief, and therefore made great haste to get behind their fortifications at Manassas. It has now in its vaults $3,500,000 in bullion, which will be' manufactured into half and quarter eagles, and dollar pieces. Very little silver or copper, is Leiiig coined. Ihe receipts of the California mint have, for a considerable period, been very large. For tha weekending July 6 they were $2 08fr.000. Capt. Grififio, supposing it was a mistake, replied that he was in a fine position, and not losing a shot. He was ordered a third time to advance and obeyed. In three discharges, or less than two minute's tiate, he had lost forty-five men and sixty hor- se?, and, unsupported as he was by infantry, he was oompelled to retreat, leaving all his guns bat one.
