IN F O R E S T P L A N T S . A L S E Y , of Now York, has discovered medicinal properties in certain plants found growing wild In the forests and fields, f om which he has produced Two Remedies wlueh cure the whole torms of Disease — These popular remedies are DK. HALSEY'S FOREST W INE and l OREST FILLS THE FOREST PILLS.—There are three thinga peculiar to these Pills alone.* 1st, They neither gripe nor weaken tho systsm. This is because they contain no Drugs or Mineral*, but that they are the pure virtues of Plants which'are as wholesome as the food we eat* 2d. They pnrge most when the stomach and bowels are most billious and foul, after this their efficacy enters the blood, and the process o f purifying goes on until all humor and Uisnase at e expelled from the system. 3d. A cure Is certain in all eases for which they are recommended, and they cure without affecting the bowels but slightly. It is folly to use severe and griping purgatives ; such drugs give pain and weakness, without clean ting the blood ; besides they injure the tone of the stomach and bowels. My principle is never to weaken the system ;— the stronger the vital functions, the more power have they to throw off disease when assisted by a really good medi cine. Salts and Castor oil and the whole category of pills made of Drugs, answer no purpose more than purgation. Such drugs neither reach the blood or bad humor. The Pills made of these Plants is a different tiling altogether.— They 1 annot harm a child, yet their efficacy in curing Diseases of the blood and other complaints is certain, and in some cases to which 1 have been eye-witness, their cures have been almost miraculous, T h e FOREST WIN E.—The medicinal properties of the Forest Wiue are different from those of the Pills, but the efficacy of each remedy harmonize together; and in the cure ol some disorders one Remedy is us important to the oth* r as water and food are for our existence. I have pointed out in the following directions some of the cases which require only the Pills, and which require both the Wine and the Pills 10 ensure the cure. The combined ac tion of botli the Remedies have o more powerful and searching efficacy, and cure sooner than either remedy alone in all such cases as 1 have re^ >mmenUed them to gether. Onepurgatlve dose of the Forest Pills is warranted to cure any Billious disorder, or any complaint arising from foul stomach and morbid condition of the bowels. One or two purgative doses will cure Fevers. One Box o f the Pills aud a Bottle of the W’ine are war ranted to break up and cure the mos severe Colds,Coughs, and Pain in the Breast. (I have never tried my Remedies in the most advanced stages of Consumption, end cannot warrant them to cure it, but old and seated colds, and Coughs, and Pain in the Breast, these remedies cure soon er than anything 1 ever knew or heard of. One Bvt tie of the Wine und a Box o f the Pills are war ranted to cure the\Asthmn but some bad cases require more. The Forest Remedies give immediate relief in Dyspepsia and Indigestion, and one or two Boxes and as many bottles are warranted to cure the most severe cases ol this dis tressing complaint. The efficacy cf the Forest Remedies in Rheumatism is very singular ; some o f the iuu.-t distressing cases 1 ever saw have been cured by them in ten or twelve day’s time, while some other cases, appar ntly not so bad.it took nenr- ls three months before the complaint yielded to the effica cy of the Remedie#. This sometimes may be owing to n broken-down constitution, but more frequently to some kind of narcotic drug taken at some former period, for I have always noticed it took longer to cure patients who had taken mercury and other poisonous drugs. AGUE AND FEVER ANDOulLi-S —The Forest reme dies are the best cure in the world lor Ague and Fever.— One o‘* two doses of the I’iils and less than a Bottle of the Wine is warranted to break the Ague and cure the pa tient, but the directions which accompany the Remedies should be adhered to. 1 have had some Ague and Fever patients who were very much bloated and limbs Inidly 1 t-wollcn Jrom the bad effect of medicine cuntuinimr quinine. No bud effects ev. r follow the cure b» the Forest Remedies, The fact is, 1 have had many apply for my Remedies to cure the bail effects of quinine, eveu after they had got rid of the Ague. Ulcers, Boils, Blotches, Scabbed Head,Ring Worm, Ery sipelas, Suit Rheur.t, Sore Eyes, and every kind of Humor. 1 have never witiv tsed anything so certain and complete ns the Forest Remedies in the cure of these complaints.— They nil arise from one common cause —impure Blood. Generally, nothing hut the Pills are required fur the cure of most of these disorders, but If both lvmedhs are used, | two Boxes of the Fill 4 and uvo or three Bottles of the Wine ! is warranted to cure the very worst case.-, und frequently ; by less than half the quantity’. Two Boxes of the Piila and as many bottles of the Wine, is warranted to cure the worst cases of Jaundice. Female obstructions, produced from bad voids or weak ly constitutions; a few d* ses ol the Fot vst Wine is warran ted to cure the most istresring forms of these complaints ; and if the Wine be followed up a few weeks, these derange ments will not occur again. The wine exactly suits the female constitution, uud gives strength, vigor, and bloom ing health. DEBILITY, Emaciation, Night Sweats, and Weakly State of the Constitution. The Forest Wine is a popular remedy for all these complaints, one to three bottles cure the worst cases without the use of the Pills ; but when the comp'aint is siccmopanied with some other disorder the Pills also will he *vqulrtd. Over a milli- 11 of Boxes and Bottles have Veen sold with in the last two vears in the United States and Uunadss — betters und certificates to the amount o f many thousand have been received, testifying lo the cures aud good effects uf tlic^e Remedies.
