The social evening at Grange Bali Friday evening took the form of a masquerade which wan much enjoyed by the participanta<.and speetatora as well. The president, Mrs. Whitney Blair, in 'a dropped word contest, bad the ladies trim several spring hats. Mrs. Howells received the prize. Buckingham spent Sun day in Syracuse .with her husband. The relatives and frienda here were greatly shocked to learn of th. death Thursday of Herbert C. Williamson of Hamilton, a former highly esteemed resident of this vicinity. Ha passed away at a Utica hospital where ha had ondergoa* an \operation -the previous week and seemed to be recoverrig -sat isfactorily ontil a few hours'before the end came. Mr. Williamson bad lived one day past the half-century mark. - He was a nephew of Charles and Fred Hamilton of this place. The Town of Sullivan snow plow fin ally reached the village Saturday afternoon and Sunday.there were a number of automobiles got through from Chittenango. but were obliged to drive through the fields from the rail road tracks nearly to W. J. Dwyers and found even that route to be peril ous. Dr. Bnyd of Chittenango aban doned his snowmobile in favor of his suiomobile and came to grief in the deep snow and was forced to pbone for bis snowmobile in order to readh the patients in the village. .Later his car was pulled out by a team of borses and came through the rest of the way. At the ssnie time another car was stalled in another part of the field, and the driver and hie lady passenger pro ceeded on foot to the village.
