LIBERAL TRADE INS Country Auction a Success The old-fashioned country auc tion held Saturday on the lawn of Trinity Methodist church was a huge success. The weather was ideal for the occasion, with plenty of sunshine and an accompanying breeze. There was a great collection of articles assembled on the lawn when the auctioneer ’ s gavel signalled the opening of the sale at 11 a. m. These included many collectors ’ items such as a 160- year-old spinning wheel, several marble-top tables, Limoge oyster plates, antique glassware and china, coffee-mill, period furniture and lamps, as well as a large variety of contemporary articles. So ably and efficiently was the auction ’ conducted by Messrs. Gilch rist, Eldridge and Witt, known as the Rockland Auctioneers, of Con gers that by 6 p. m. the auction was a “ sell-out. ” Refreshments were served throughout the day by members of the Woman ’ s Society of Christian Service, headed by Mrs. Roy White, chairman. Messrs. Ralph Goldsmith, Clyde Leighton, Harold Mackey and A1 fred Lindsell acted as cashiers, and Irving Kennedy jr served as clerk. Messrs.
