Such a collection would save a great deal o f time and trou- ble to parties who are looking into the opinions that have been given from time to time upon various subjects, I n order to, remedy the matter and trm m k e the office more of a convenience to the public, A s semblyman Whipple of Cattaraugus w ill soon introduce a b ill requiring the A ttor- ney-General to hand in to the legislature, an annual report in the same manner that, is now required of the other departments of the State government. > A t the office of the Superintendent of Public Works it, is learned that the com ference of the committee on the canal im - provement union has resulted in an agree- ment that .the legislature shall be asked to contiuue iq the work o f improving the canals wbieh has already begun and push- ed toward, completion. Never send an article for publication without giving thy name, 'fo r thy name often secures publication o f a worthlets article. Thou shouldst not rap at the door of a printing office; for he that hearetb the rap sneereth in his sleeve and losetb time. Never inquire of the editor the news; for behold it is bis business to give it thee at the appointed time without asking for it. I t is hot right that thou shouldst ask hith who is the author of an article, for it is his .duty to keep such things unto him self. When thou dost enter his office take due heed unto thyself that thou dost not look at what may concern thee hot, for that is not meet in the sight o f good breeding. Neither examine thou the proof-sheet for i t is; not ready-to meet thine eye, that thou.mayest understand. Prefer thine own town paper to any other, and i f thou hast not already done s> , subscribe for it immediately. Pay for i t in advance and i t ahall be well with thee and thine. A F a ta l Q'aestlon.
