This affection,though notrdangerpas to life, is exceedingl^;Jtouhles<^e and ^noying. In a great many cases, the 'liouhre is the inflammation of the finest hionchi, and the treatment the same as that of bronchitis; c|lly ‘contfactedj and the \patient brought into a state of spfEocafioh. This nervous irritation is n p t unfrequently occasioned by diseases o f the ^ i n e ,o r b y tumors j>ressing upon the nerves, or by actual diseases of other parts of the organism, or by some morbid affection of the gray mass of the brain. In h 'g reaf many cases thd difacttlty is incurable, hut in others i t will disappear the moment the true cause is discovered and removed-' A g reat many remedies and cures are; recomniended,none of which,however,, ar&reliablel A m o n ^ theta a fdthe follow in g :' the inhalation ‘of compressed air, of air with increased oxygen, of chloroform vapors, of narcotic vapors, of tar, fir, etc., and of a great many other tbfings j also the use o f ice, coffee, quinine, arsenic, and a thousand o ther things.; ' Some o f these asthmatic patients are re lieved by v ^ 't r i f l i n g things,as.the removal of a noise, person' opening and closing o f a window, door, etc.,While, w ith others, nothingw illbeofanyusew h atever. Change o f climate, or residence, is o ften accompa nied w ith complete cure. As mental dis turbances and a bad conscience are often the cause in such cases. W hen the cause cannot be ascertsuned, there is nothing left hut to experimentally ascertain by what means the respective p a rty gets relief, and to avoid such distiurhances as are likely to form of asthma, which is by far jhbre nous than the above, and is generally caused by a disease o f the spine, and incurable.— G o o d H e a lth.
