T h e ' prison e r ’s wife, w h o w a s present d u r in g th e * trial, o n hearing th e sentence fainted a n d d id n o t recover for som e tim e, an d d u r ing th e d a y h a d tw e lve spasm o d ic fits, an d it w a s found necessary to sum m o n a physician.
