In Otsego County, the Healthy Heart ftograra will promote the event, which is sponsored by the National Association of Governors’ Councils on Physical Fitness and Sports. For the past six years, the nation^ observance has helped American workers realize the bene- His of a healthy lifestyle. \Each company decides what acuvities best fit their own particular work setting,” said health education Coordinator Tom Hohensee of Healthy Heart. \Some choose walking or healdt heart lunch, others offer a variety of health and fitness activ ities throughout the day. Elementary pupils honored by CV-S CHERRY VALLEY - a a r l e s F, Culbert, Elementary principal of the Cherry Valley-Springfield Cenoal School, has announced Elementary Students of the Month for March. Students of the Month are select ed by a committee whose decisions are based upon recommendations by teachers. The committee recommended Elizabeth Peik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Peik of Cherry Valley, because she \is an eager and enthusiastic student. She has a . terrific sense erf humor and imagi nation. She enjoys writing stories for the class.” Stephanie Buchannon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Buchannon of Cherry Valley, was chosen particu larly tecause she “takes pride in doing well in all subject areas and has made steady progress throughout the year. She has a fine v o cabuk^ and IS very knowledgeable and always Uies to do her best daily.” The committee noted that Joshua Cade, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Cade of Roseboom, “has become a very successful and producuve individual because of his {msitive attitude and willpower. His person al growth is m o g n ized by other students. This has encouraged oth ers to give their best.” Bryan MclVayme, son o f Mr. and Mrs. Clyde MeWayne of Canajoharie, was cited because he is \a very conscientious students who strives for perfection. He thinks of others and helps his class mates and teachers with any prob lems at any time ” The selectioni committee noted that Molli McCarty, daughter o f Mr. and Mrs. Keith McCarty of East Springfield, “is a hard worker who puts forth maxinuun effort in every thing she does. She is helpfiil and Im tegun to particEpie on a regular basis in c t e . She is a dependable, enthusi astic member of the Elementary Marching Patrkits who plays her part accurately and withi style.” Stephanie Sheldon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I>avid Sheldon of Cherry Valley, was selected because she \demonsirates a positive attittide toward leacher^s, peers and her work.
