The ban takes effect today, with publication of a notice on another page, and runs until April 16. The ban is aim ed at protecting deer from harass m ent by dogs running at large. I t empowers conserva tion officers and other law enforcem ent officers to shoot on sight any dog they may find chasing deer. The Villages of M a rgaret ville and Fleischm anns al ready have year-around dog ordinances, which forbid per m itting dogs to run loose. D e a k B a n k A p p lie s T o O p e r a t e In D e lh i ’The Deak National Bank of Fleischm anns has filed an application for perm ission to establish a branch office outside Delhi near the Delhi Tech cam p u s, and the appli cation is on file in the Second National bank region office in New York. I t is expected that there will be about six months before construction can be started if the application is approved. ’The bank will be in a new building to be erected near the Sherwoods b ridge crossing south of Delhi on route 10. A Binghamton developer has proposed to build a shopping center there. Delhi is served by one o ther bank, the D elaw are National Bank of Delhi. G ift B u s in e s s H e r e Louis Zasloff, 55, a form er resident of M a rgaretville, died unexpectedly last week W ednesday a t his home in Lake Park, Fla. Services and burial were in F lorida. He was bom in R u ssia in 1918 and h a d lived here in the 1940s a n d e a rly 1950s. He had been In the cauliflower busi ness, and he and his wife h ad ated a gift shop In the ^ [ a r g a r e tv ille p o s t office building, wJiich he then owned. He moved from here to California, where he was alec in business before retiring to Florida. Mr. Zasloff was a m e m b e r of the M a rgaretville M asonic lodge.
