Y. _____ Thurs., Aug. 30, 1973 Roxbury, Aug. 30—The Rox- bury Garden club met at the home of Mrs. William Friend last week Monday afternoon. There were 20 present. The subject of the day was “Decorations with House Plants.” Mrs. William Morgan was the narrator for the slides of house plants from cooperative extension of Cornell university. Pictures of plants from coleus, ferns, philo dendrons to rarer plants were shown, and suggestions were made as to their need for sunlight, soil and water. Several members brought houseplants or flower arrange ments. Mrs. Cornelius Lepeltak had a red gladioli arrangement; Mrs. Elms. Brower had a pink African violet and a winter bouquet of Chinese lanterns, pearly everlasting and pussy willows. Emotional needs of plants was mentioned. “Plants love music even more than they like to be talked to,” said the narration. At the close of the afternoon, punch, cake and cookies were served by the hostess. The next meeting will be held Sept. 17 at the home of Mrs. Wesley Hignett.
