Phoenkia, Marcii 1. — Four paintings by Michael Denson of Woodstock were exhibited at the Phoenicia elementary school by the artist when he came to meet with art pupils in the first through sixth grades. The paintings have been hung in the oafetorium of the school, and fifth and sixth graders have written reviews of their talk with the artist and painted pic tures using the style he de scribed to them. Dunn has proclaimed March 5-11 as M.I.A. week in the town of Shandaken to remember the 1,- 363 men stiU missing in action from the war in Southeast Asia. Present when Mr. Dunn signed the proclamation were Nanette Gilligan, who wears the bracelet bearing the name of and correspcwids with the family of SP5 Bermar Ganoe, missing since March 24, 1970, and Thomas Sickler, who wears the bracket of Maj. Harold Al- wan, missing since Feb. 27, 1967. W e r e H e l d T u e s d a y Rensselaer J. Butler, 78, of Phoenicia, died Saturday at the Kingston hospital after a long illness. His funeral was Tuesday morning at the Gormley funeral 'home in Phoenicia. Rev. Ralph Daimstadt, pastor of the Me morial United Methodist church, officiated. Burial will be later in Maplewood cemetery. Mr. Butler is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Milton Bailey of New Jersey and Mrs. Sela Cole of Maryland. He was bom April 21, 1894 in Spruceton and was the son of Edgar and Ella VanValken- iburgh Butler. He was the hus band of the late Elsie Rowley Butler. He had been a resident of Phoenicia for the last 20 years. He had been a real estate sales man for a Kingston firm for many years.
