Homer Folks^ End Governor Rockefeller, in his budget presentation Tuesday, called for the closing of 38-year- old Homer Folks hospital in Oneonta by July 1. Mr. and Mrs. James Yerry and son, Ricky, and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Yerry and son, Jinmiy, of Delhi were Sunday evening visitors of Mr .and Mrs. John Sprague. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Lacey of Downsville were Sunday sup per guests of her grandmother, Mrs. Herbert Raeder. Mrs. Mae Hewitt Succumbs in Delhi Mrs. Mae “Polly” Hewitt, a native of New Kingston and formerly a nurse at Margaret ville hospital, died Monday at the O’Connor hospital in Delhi following a long illness. Her funeral was Wednesday afternoon at the McCall fu neral home in Delhi. Rev. Billy C. Sparkman officiated. Burial will be later in Bovina ceme tery. Surviving Mrs. Hewitt are her husband, Andrew J. Hewitt of Delhi, and her sister, Mrs. William Greene of Fleisch- manns. She was bom Sept. 3, 1911 to Theron J. and Minnie Davis Starley of New Kingston and was married June 1, 1941, after v/hich she moved to Delhi. She had been a licensed practical nurse and was active in the Horae Demonstration unit. She was also active in the women’s cirde of the Second Presbyter ian church in Delhi, of which she was a member. 'Halcottville By William E. Griffin Halcottville, Jan. 18 WilliEun A. Davis, who was hurt in a feill near his home two weeks ago, is out again. Mr. Davis, who is 83, suffered a bkick eye and cut on his head. Dean Kellerhouse and his fiancee of Washington, D. C., visited last week at the home of bis grandfather, William E. Griffin, here. His fiancee is Miss Karen Strawser. Both are attending college in Wash ington. The condition of Lloyd Finch, who has been in the Margaret ville Memorial hospital for sev eral weeks, remains about the same. He was hospitalized with a broken hip.
