GIAXT TROUT are running upstream from the Pepacton reser voir to spawn. This barrier in the Bushkill at Arkville traps many below its lip and make them easy prey for poachers. A fish ladder was installed several years ago, but fell victim to a large flood and has not been replaced. A conservation officer said last week he had spotted the largest brown trout he had ever . seen under the Austin Bridge on the Arkville cut-off road. A local poacher bragged earlier of snagging a 20-pounder from the river. DOUGLAS TODD CARPENTER Looking for One-Man Carpenter Jobs Dry Brook Road, Arkville, N. Y. 586-3284 r I I I LOG HOMES 25 ft. The loss dropped Onteora to' eighth place in UCAL standings with a record of one win, four losses and a tie. The teams fought evenly throughout most of the conteS't, with the Onteora offense fail ing to pick up any kind of mo mentum that would produce a score. They failed to move in the first quarter after recov ering a fumble on the openin'j kickoff. Rondout scored in the sec ond when Dill Wilkins ran for the goal. An intercepted pass on the Onteora 22 set up the fourth quarter touchdown for Rondout, with Wilkins again carrying from the eighth for the Ecore. Libei'ty comes to Boiceville Saturday aiternoon to take on the Indians in a game starting at 1:30 p.m. Liberty has a 2-4 record. LOWER FHICES OH OUALITY FOODS I FRESH MAINE ROASTING CHICKEN 5-LB.
