Sophomores’ Film Show The class of 1975 at the An des central school conducted its first activity of the school year with the showing of the adventure film “The Cat.” F irst ACS Clinic Sixty - nine students were treated at the first fall immu nization clinic held at Andes central school last week Mon day. In addition, a large num ber of pre-schoolers and adults also received shots and vaccin ations. Dr. Masood Ansari of Margaretville, the new school and town health officer for An des, was in charge. He was assisted by several of Dela ware county’s public health nurses. F a c u ity D inner The Andes central sdiool Teacher’s association will hold its annual fall dinner at the Andes hotel on Wednesday eve ning, Nov. 1, at 7:30. Seniors Gam e The recent senior-faculty bas ketball games held at the An des central school were a fi nancial success. The women’s team, called the “Over-the-Hill Gang” eked out a one-point triumph, while the men’s five, dubbed the “Kardiac Kids,” won by two points. Both contests were close to the final ibuzzer, with debate as to how the adults won. The evening added more than $150 to the senior class treasury. Senior B and The senior band will give a concert at the local school on Wednesday evening, Nov. 8, starting at 8 o’clock. There will be no admission charge, however, a collection will be taken with the proceeds to go toward the purchase of new band uniforms. The band will sponsor a movie at the school Friday, starting at 8 p.m.. A girl for the first time became a member of the school’s audio - visual squad. Gloria Ross broke the barrier in operating a motion picture projector for her senior health class. The pro posed purchase has sparked controversy in and outside the board of Supervisors since a supervisors committee reached a tentative agreement with Kenneth Kelso, owner of the mill, to buy it for $100,000. The purchase would also cov er additional buildings, the Davenport Center railroad sta tion and a right of way along the former Ulster and Delaware railroad between East Meredith and Davenport Center, in addi tion to large acreage. The 130- year-old mill is much as it was when built, and plans are to use it as a museum. center if federal and state aid can be obtained to complete the pur chase and establish a mainte nance fund.
