At the annual session of the Board of Supervisors or Delaware County, held at tire Supervisors' rooms at Delhi, on tun 19th day of November, 1902, the several towns ot the county were represented as follows: Andes—JamoB W. Boll call shewed all the members present. On motion of -dr. Mead the Board pro- ceeded to the election of a chairman, and then on ino'lo i of Mr. Mead, Amos G.Hall was unanimously eleoted chairman and took the constitutionaloatti. On assuming the duties of the office Mr. Hall thanked the Board for the honor conferred upon him. Mr. Hartruau moved that the selection of clerk be made ny acclamation and on his motion B. F. Gorowo was re-elected, and after the administration of the oath by the chairman thanked the members of the Board for their confidence shown In selecting bun and pledged his beet efforts to the faithful performance of his duties. Mr. Munn moved that the several members be allowed to continue the occupation of the same seats occupied during 1901 Curled. On motion of Mr. Hartmao, memorial of assessors of Colchester asking that property omitted from the roll be added, was granted, On motion of Mr. Brock memorial of Stamford assessors asking that roll be oorreobed by striking off an assessment, etc, was granted. Mr. Munn moved that the abstracts of town aocounts of the soveral towns of the oounty as certified by the several auditing boards, be presented and filed with the clerk of this Board, and that the amounts therein certified to b e nooessary to pay such town audits bo levied and charged on the several and respective towns. Those Who Have Answered the Reaper's Final Summons. Charles H. Gerowe, a prominent Sid- ney Center man and a former Supervisor of Sidney, died on Sunday at his home in the former place. At her residence in New York City on Thursday, October 30, Mary A., widow of Rev. Charles B. Smyth paased into eternity. Interment at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Tarrytown, N... V. Her hus- band, the late Rev,. C. B. Smyth, was pastor or the First Presbyterian Church In Delhi from 1851 to lfcul. The church waB situated at that time below the vil- lage near the county house. Mr. Smyth was the founder of the Star of Delaware, which paper was aflei ward purchased by Sturtevant & Mcintosh, who changed the name to the Delaware Republican. Bev. Eldildgo Kelly of Arkvllle returned homo on Monday last from a week's out- ing lu the Adlrondaeks, bringing with him a line yearling deer, which he shot while there, It Is rumored that after the report of the rifle, and Mr. Kelly seeing that ho had secured his game, be ascended several feet In the air, alighting by the side of his game. On the Sun- day following a few invited fiieuds assembled at the Locust Grove House, where a most bountiful repast was given. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Sweet, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Kelly and Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Kelly of Kelly Corners, Mr. and Mrs DeWltt Hammond of Denver. Hunting on Pakatakan. On Saturday two of our local Dan'l Boones, accompanied by a brace of prot- 1 ty schoolma'ams, went on a hunting ex- pedition lu the direction of Pakatakau. The party was armed with three rifles and a kodak. We do not hear that a great slaughter of game was effected, yet while the ladles took snap-shots of somo youdg cubs the two Dan'Issaw a couple of dears and came marching ttlumphantly home with them. When the reporter saw the captives one was contentedly browsing off the end an of envelope. Ho Fired the Shot Heard 'Round the Town. Cmslderablo ludiguatlon was aroused among local sportsmen on Monday when it was learned that while hunting on that day Orrla Dutnond of this village had killed one of the golden pheasants that were liberated In the nearby woods some time ago. His excuse is that he did not know but that It was a partridge when ho shot. It was a male bird, and as their plumage is very showy it seems that most any one could tell by half looking. The penalty for shooting those birds Is 160 Itne. A Caution. John D. Rotermund, lire warden for the (own of Mlddletown, calls attention to the neoosslty of exorcising a great deal of care by hunters and others In regard to the use of matches and the consequent clanger of starting fires In the woods. A large amount of damage might easily be caused by carelessly throwing a lighted match lu the dry loaves at this time. AN EVENING OF RARE ENJOYMENT. The Wagner Orchestra Delights a Large Audience at Olympic Hall. The Wa.goer Harp Orchestra and Quar- tette Company gave an excellent enter- tainment at Olympic Hall on Tuesday evening. \Miller's Wooing,\ by Eaton Fanlog, the first number on the pro- gramme, w«,8 given by the whole com- pany. The audience was so well ploased that the compa.ny was recalled. \Ma- zurka, do Concert,\ by Musln, rendered by Miss Toinpltlus on the violin, waB so nicely given that her hearers immedi- ately demanded an encore. MIBS Tomp- kins knew that the most of the audience appreciated what she had already given aud she so nicely played that old and familiar composition, \Sliubert's Sere- nade,\ that her listeners were pleased beyond expectation.
