A rumor was current in Arena yester- day that smallpox had broken out In Walton and that there were a dozen or more cases there. It was said that the village was quarantined. Nathan Brougblon died at his home at West Meredith on Monday, June 28, aged 79 years. He was born lu Ha.mdon, bu t had lived for thirty-two yoars on the farm on which be died. He was a prosperous farmer and respected by all who knew him. His wife preceded liim to the grave about two years ago. Mis Frank T. Silllman of Township, Stamford, died Sunday, June 22, 1902, In Roosevelt Hospital, New York City,where she bad undergone an operation a few days previous to her death.
