At the' request o f Mr. Sudam, John Radcliffe whs examined, as to the manner in which h is appointment was procured-—Elmcndor-f had married an iece pf R a d cliffe; and it appear* clearly, that Mr. Sudam had no knowledge of, or ex pectation sof, this appointment ; nor was it. in any w a y intimated to him, that Elmendorf was to receive any appointment, either pi- rectly-orindirectly^buTthatRwas^procui'ed by Radcliffe.
