PD: Centerport Man Killed After Car Left Road, Struck Tree A Centerport man was killed Wednesday after his cat veered off Fort Salonga Road and struck a tree, Suf- folk police said. Both the Melville and Huntington Manor fire de- partments responded to the crash scene at Route 110 and Schwab Road at around 8:30 a.m., officials said. One of the victims, who was in an SUV, was removed from the vehicle and brought Daniyal Syed, 24, was EMS crews arrived and initi- ated resuscitation efforts on Hunter en route to Hunting- ton Hospital. Hunter was pro- nounced dead at the hospital. His vehicle was im- pounded for a safety check and the investigation is con- tinuing. State troopers stopped a 2004 GMC Envoy for mak- ing an improper U-turn on Motor Parkway in Commack at around 11:30 p.m., offi- cials said. Upon further investigation, state police said the troopers found the 22-year-old driver Robert Riepe and 18-year-old passenger Samantha McNeill in possession of LSD, liquid THC, marihuana, drug para- phernalia and numerous oxy- codone and valium pills with- out a prescription.
