Marvin Bressler was walking on New Highway, 100 feet west of Mo- hegan Lane, at around 9:05 a.m. when he was struck by the 2000 Ford Econoline that was traveling west- bound, Suffolk police said. Bressler was brought by Commack Rescue to Stony Brook University Hos- pital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Ford, Rafael Sori- ano, 58, of Brentwood, was airlifted by Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was treated for not life-threat- Two ured After Tracg}! Visitation for Bressler was held at 1.J. Morris funeral home in Dix Hills. Bressler was interred at New Monte- fiore Cemetery in West Babylon. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers of- fers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. FD: No Injuries After Pool House Goes Up In Flames The pool house of a Northportcon- dominium development went up in flames Saturday afternoon, officials said. The Northport Fire Department re- sponded to the blaze at the Harbour Point development, which is off of Harbour Point Drive, at around 12:40 p.m. - The pool house was engulfed when firefighters arrived. They attacked the blaze and stopped it from spreading to the attached clubhouse, which did sus- tain smoke and water damage, fire of- ficials said. The blaze was brought under con- trol within 20 minutes. There were no injuries reported, ac- cording to fire officials. Nearly 50 firefighters operated at seene with four engines and two am- bulances. An additional engine re- sponded from the East Northport Fire Department. The Centerport Fire De- partment provided a rapid interven- tion team. . Suffolk County Fire-Rescue Coor- dinators also provided assistance Firefighters work the scene of a fire Saturday afternoon, when the pool house at a Northport condominium de- velopment went up in flames. Units were under the command of Chief Brad Wine, and supported by assistant chiefs John Jacobsen and Dennis Sheridan. ~ The fire, which officials said ap- peared to be accidental, is under in- vestigation by the Suffolk Police Ar- son Squad, Northport Police and Town of Huntington Fire Marshal.
