Debtors in Prosperity SO1E MTINGT0N ; : .. . . : MUSICAL NOTES The Final Concert The marvelous piece of vocal writ- ing known as Hiawatha ' s Wedding Feast by Coleridge Taylor will be the chief -work of the final concert of the Huntington Musical Association. This will be given with -full orchestral ac- companiment. It Is the most impor- tant work of a secular character that the chorus has yet undertaken. The wonderful beauty of the quiet parts •and the strong, virile rhythms of the energetic and humorous portions make an impression not soon forgotten. Scarcely less important from a musi- cal point of view is the second con- certo of 'Saint. Saens to lie played by Mrs. Eliot Morton , accompanied by the orchestra. It will y be remembered with what success Mrs. Morton accom- plished the secon d and last move- ments of this- same composition last season. In view of this fact It ha:, bean decided to produce the whole work at this concert. The soloist will be a tenor singer. The executive committee is trying to secure the services of James Price or Ernest Davis. BoUi singers have won great favor with Huntington audiences on -previous occasions. Ii addition to the -solos ia the cantata the singers will give one or two groups in the latter half ot the program. The date which the committee is trying to secure is the 6th of May. If tWs is impossible it will be within a few days-of this time. Mrs. Nott to Give Recital On Monday, May 3 , in the ' ' Chlcker- Ing Hall , New Yoi-k City, Grace Parker Nott, soprano , in collaboration -with Florence Gauggel , contralto , will give a . recital of vocal , music Mrs. Nott is well known in Huntington for her axtls . tic. work and her well-wishers are •anxious for her success la the big town. Noyes Greene and Miss Clam (Blox- som , second sopranos; Mrs. Henry Faxon and Miss Florence Wright , first altos and Mrs. Held and Mrs. John F. Semon second altos. The quartett; was formed and trained by F. L. Will- goose. They gave ' the Spinning Song by Wagner from the Flying Dutchman and in response to -n voci ferous recall sang Love ' s Old' Sweet Song by Mulioy Marie Ellis , a talented young violinist then played two numbers which were greatly liked and w3iioh were received with enthusiastic applause. Mrs. Nott soprano followed with three beautiful songs. These wore -presented in true artistic style , vwlth delightful musical llnisli and adequate -technique. The artists were all graciously rewarded with lovely bouquets of carnations. During the repast which followed , the ladies of the double quartette were requested to give another number. This they did , singing the well known \Miller ' s Wooing \ by Failing and giv- ing as an encore the Lullaby by Brahms. Travellers tasurauce Co Travelers Indemnity Co.
