The Red Devils turned in their second win of the season Saturday, defeating an invading Peekskill high school eleven 13-0, at the Freeport stadium, by scoring all their points in the final period. Tirrell started his second team, but Peekskill immediately took ad- vantage of the youthful squad, and began a determined raarch. The first team went in and Moscini fumbled, enabling the Red Devils to recover and end the threat. Neither team was able to threaten seriously during the second and third quarters, but Freeport broke loose at the opening of the final period. Jack Paras tossed 20 yards to Bill McCloskey in the end zone for the first score. Ray Stong started the second drive by block- ing a kick, which Pat Searfoss re- covered in the end zone for a 28 | touchdown. Fred Friendman place downs- phy, Mexmon. The Indians romped off four straight early season wins before falling before Hempstead, 27-0, and were then upset by Long Beach, 12-7, a week ago Satur- day. Since Chaminade battled the Hempstead team to a 13-7 score, the Flyer gridders were con- Meg: of taking Sewanhaka in stride. Coach-Frank Burgs, unable to get the regulars to take the game seriously, inserted his reserves in- to the starting line-up Saturday, but the recruits proved no match for the Indians. The varsity was put into action soon after the fray began, but was unable to halt the fighting Sewanhaka eleven. ? The Indians, fighting for a suc- cessful season after losing two straight games, completely out- played Chaminade, romping through for consistent gains, and stopping the Chaminade backs at the line of scrimmage on prac- tically every play. Frank Lanzer, Sewanhaka quarterback, called his plays with careful precision, constantly feinting the Chaminade secondary out of position, wi Bill Lee, Wally Lang and Ke Germann doing most of the ball carrying. Lee scored both touchdowns on off-tackle slants, the first coming { mid-way in the second quarter after a 60-yard march, and the sec- ond in the final period, climaxing a 70-yard parade.
