AYER WILL SPEAK - | Manbattan Pastor To Preach At I Bible Church Dr. William Ward Ayer, pastor of the Calvary Baptist church, Manhattan, will be the guest speaker at the Windsor Avenue ble church at Oceanside on Tuesday night, October 8. Dr., Ayer, well-known radio | speaker, has charge of the largest church in New York city. He was formerly pastor of the Phillpot tabernacle at Toronto, Canada. Dr. Thomas Lambe, missionary from Ethiopia, will be the speaker at the 3 o'clock service on Colum- bus day. Dr. Lambe was in the midst of the recent war activities in Ethiopia, Frank Vuture will speak at the regular Sunday evening service and will conduct the Bible school at 2:30 p. m. Sunday. The Rev. John Linton will speak Friday night. PRAISES MASARYK Rabbi Gittelsohn Lauds \Patriarch Of Democracy\ Thomas G. Masaryk was one of the most able statesmen of our of the Central synagogue of Nas- sau county, at the Masonic temple, Lincoln avenue, Rockville Centre, last night. Rabbi Gittelsohn reviewed the life. of the \Patriarch of Dethoc- racy\ who was first president of the Czechoslovakian republic and who died last month. He pointed out that Masaryk \single-handed created a new state out of the ruins of the World war and guided that state through the first two decades of its existence.\ Masaryk gave unusual treat- ment to the Jewish people and cinder minorities, Rabbi Gittelsohn said.
