Left fatherless a b oor boy, to struggle with the v icissitudes o f life alone, h e gained for him self a reputation which tim e dan never destroy; noble and generous, esteemed by h is friends, the kindest of husbands and fathers, worshipped by his family. Self-sacrificing, the c oldest of storms nor the darkest h o u r o f n ight were n e v er a b a rrier to the performance of duty.
