We refor to the manutacturé of machinery, particularly farm implements, and to stock raising, or the +breeding of thorough animals. The mapgbinist in {vloso proximity to these fairs can exhibit his wares with but little caponso of mon'y or time, and can make a much fafter apd more satisfactory display than when cofppelled to transport his machinery loog distance by rail. Thas far but little attention has been given to improving ithe stock of this county. © s The same breed of horses is expected to furnish draft horses and roadsters. One kind of cattle produce .our milkers and our beeves. Nor is there lees demand for improvement amjong our swine and oer sheep. The Fait permanently locat- ed here, which, added to our present fa- cilities, will render Ghemung county one of the most eligible! positions for stock raising. We certainly have remarkable advantages for shipping in every direc- tion. We have the t of grazing land, in fact the natural fértility of our soi. is equalled but in few counties. Stock breeders in our conaty will of course bave the great of exinbiung cheaply their entire stock to the intelli- aent farmers of the State and the Ltate Fair grounds will provide ex- cellent accommodations for our county society, and leave mo rearon why Our county fairs sbouldinot meet with the greatess success and acquire a national importance, and become the pride of our vbrifty citisons. Dairymen wants breed which has been established with reference to its milking qualities. || f « Asyrsbi}e.Aldérnjy.Holltien, and other breeds are reared for use in the dairy, but each possecsea characteristic peculiar to itself which suit the circumstances and requirements of different dairy men.
