His many friends in Athens will be glad to know where he may be fqund for some time in the fature. -Athens Gazette. -Mrs. Muztay, wife of Jadge William Murray, of this jadicial district, died on Sunday, April 23d, at Washington. Mrs. Murray had been in feeble health for some time previous to her decease, and had bat recently arrived at Washington, on her way home frons Florida, where sho had been so- journing in the vain hope of receiving benefit from the mild climate. Rev. A. Parker's address on the future of the Baptist denomi- nation gave the koy-noto to the disgus- sions and was received with marked favor. It was well calculated to atir the bloud of the worthy followers of Rogers Wil- liams by its reference to the heroic period of the denominational history. With equal success did it eliclt the just pride of the nu- merous congregation by the skilfol and can- : did array of the achievements of the past f one hundred years. 2,000,000 of communicants, 30,000 churches, 13,000 clergy were something to speak of, but only an index of the grand spiritual results brought out through the faith and patience of theso God-fearing people. Mr. Parker placed the Baptists third, numerically, of the sects, which gur informant thinks s mistake, as he says the Roman Catholics rank higher unly by reckoning their entire pop- ulation as communicants.
