Mr. Hill was formerly of Central New York, and much esteemed for his admirable talents as a preacher, genial spirit and devotedness to his pastoral work The Corning people feal that he is just the man they want, and are prepared to give him a cordial reception on his @vrival. -The Hook and Ladder Company of this city went up to the fifty-ninth annual parade of the Canandaigua Fi-o Department last Monday and had a most delightful time. In other words, the enterprise, which might put two or throo thousand dollars in the Professor's pocket legitimately, is to be a grand benefit to this worthy and popular charity. 'The terms upon which the Oratorio is to be pre- sented are exceedingly liboral, and there is not the shadow of a question as to its ano cess, musically as well as finsnclally. W. diroctors' gar \Atlantic on train three with four diamonds, by its digging from her Anger and dropping to the track through the the triin at Hornelisville Officer Niendorf, learning the particulars, went down to Ad- dison on train eight and commenced walk- ing back towards Hornellsville, carefully looking for the treasure. Tuners was an instrumental solo by Miss Nollis Stevenson, and a duct by Missos Jonnie Buof and Mc- Neil, both - exeelloatly - well rendered and heartily applauded. Young Rawmndell with his violin added to the «atiefaction of the evaning. | Prof. B. W. Songer, who happened to be prosont, and being callod apon sang A solo. a ballad, in a very plossing manner, making a decidedly good impression.
