The bark Lyra brings us advices to the 12th instant, only three days before the intended attack on the ‘'I ' h t ’cV n X M 'ir^oL th^ General of the island, with his staff and suite and a force of eight hundred Spanish soldiers, had arrived at Havana from Spain. It was ■ reported that he was the bearer of some important concessions to the Cubans from the Spanish government ; but they had not yet transpired. These concessions may be too late to reconcile the Cubans, but the troops will be ju.st in time for a part in the drama whioji is to be performed. There was also a report of the arrival of a Spanish war steamer, which is probably the one already men tioned by previous arrivals, though three others are daily expected. The utmost vigilance was exercised by the civil and military authorities. No report of the landing or approach of any expedition had, how ever, yet been received from any-part of the island, t.iur government has taken some determined steps towards maintaining tho good faith of the nation.
