It is the work of several hands, compiled by Mrs. Ma^ Bushnell Clffiney, who, with the assistance of friends of Dr. Bushnell through out the country, and with the active co-opera tion of Dr. Bartol. Bishop Clark and Dr. liconard Bacon, has herself written that part of the Mography which relates to the first sixty years of Dr. Bu^ell’s life. In performing this task Mrs. *Chen^ has had, side the contributions of the distinguished men named above, the control of Dr. Bushnell’s correspondence and some autobiographical fragments, wMe in the work of revision she lias profited by the judgment and assistance <of a number of eminent scholars and clergy men who have interested themselves in the execution of the important task. That part of the biography which relates to Dr. Bushaell’s Ministry at Large—namely, his ■work during the years from 1861 to 1870, is the work of the JRev. Dr. Edwin P. Parker, of Hartford, Connecticut, while the chapter ■which treats of the last six years of Dr. Bush nell’s life—-years of declme and retirement- lias been written by Miss F. L. Bushnell, the daughter whose ministry to him in those years was constant and close.
