As for her reaction, believe me the ex First Lady can be explicit with expletives when she's riled...The pro- ducers of the very entertain- ing and long running \Me and My Girl\ got Rick Wor- tley, a worker from Maine who became the instant Earl of Wharnicliffe, to see the show (similar plot of acquired title). In reverse, what about the self styled \Prince\, Mike Romanoff, who when revealed was plain Harry Gerguson. Anyway, he went back to being Romanoff and a suc- cessful Beverly Hills restau- rateur. 1 don't hink Wortely, er, I mean, the Earl, wants to open a bistro...Fun, laughs and lots of it at the Friars' stag luncheon for Rich Little at the N. Slappy White, Jack Carter and an explosive Pat Cooper were the big laugh getters...In October I enjoyed matching socks more than watching pro football...! never met a man's sweater manufacturer who didn't like Mort Sahl. His one man show at the Neil Simon Theatre titles \Mort Sahl on Broadway\ (the theatre is closer to Eighth Avenue) will win a lot of new friends and tickle the old cult. Give it for Christmas. What a gift!...Alabama's Senator Heflin can make a simple two minute statement sound like a ten minute preach- ment...If wishes of fishes (or it is fish?) are granted and our aquatic friends could preordain their fate I assure you a majority of the Snapper, Sole (Grey) and Salmon would prefer ending up on a plate of King Of The Sea. So good is the prepara- tion, so attractive is the presentation. All this and an able captain named Pat Boyle. Each year volunteers from the Women's Division interview inmates of the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women to help mothers who are there select toys they would like to give their children for Christmas. These gifts are then deli- vered to the children by the volunteers with a card from the mother. Other disadvan- taged children also receive gifts in the same manner. This program is called \Operation Toy Lift,\ and proceeds from the \Home for the Holidays\ tour will help defray the costs of this worthwhile project. The day will provide an opportunity to relax from the pre-holiday rush and to stimulate your own house decorating, while serving an often forgotten group of innocent children. Mrs. Henry A.
