During the privilege of the floor, several residents com- plained about the condition of the floors in Rhame Avenue Elementary School. Mrs. Patricia Nalhanson •stated that the floors in the Kindergarten and lunch rooms were dirty and gritty, and asked that they be mopped more frequently. \I can vouch for the kinder- garten floors,\ stated Mrs. Keating, \and it's disgust- ing.\ Mrs. Keating even volunteered her services to the district. \1 went with my mop and some ammonia to clean the floors, but I wasn't allowed to do so.\ Mr. Maiden noted that she would be liable for a grie- vance had she done so. Board member Barry Akrongold stated that this problem should be placed on top of the priority list. \These children play on the floor in the kindergarten rooms, and eat their lunches there. They should be mopped clean every day. Mr. Ralph Grandinetti, Principal at Rhame Avenue School, reported that he was consdering moving the kin- dergarten children to the lunch room in addition to ensuring a daily .mop-up of the kindergarten rooms. \This will eliminate some of the mess that accompanies eating in the room,\ Mr. Grandinetti stated. The next meeting of the Board of Education will be held on April 26, when a public forum on the bond issue will be held.
