Nemeth Sr. of Patterson, has gra duated from recruit training at the Naval Training Center in Or lando. A 1972 graduate of Brewster High, he is sche duled to report to Aviation Fire Control Technician -A\ School, Naval Air Sta tion, Memphis, Tenn. SHREVEPORT, La. - U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Edward A. Urban Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. . E. A. Urban, Somers, N.Y., has graduated from the Strategic Air Command's (SAC) Non commissioned Officer Leadership School at Barksdale AFB. Sergeant Urban, an ad ministrative specialist, was trained in military management and supervision. He is assigned at Griffiss AFB, N.Y., with a unit of SAC, America's nuclear deterrent force of long range bombers and intercontinental ballistic missiles. A 1965 graduate of Somers Central High School, he at tended Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology. The sergeant's wife, Brenda, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stevens, Hornell, N.Y. GERMANY - Air Force Sgt. Peter Zygtnont, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eagen Zygmont, Banksville, is in the 52nd Organizational Maintenance Squadron. 'Presents for Patients' WHITE PLAINS - The Westchester Mental Health Association's 15th annual \Presents for Patients\ drive is well under way, according to Mrs. Jerome Gordon, of Chappaqua, area chairman. The holiday gifts are distributed to patients in state psychiatric hospitals, to - the handicapped and the retarded. Gift donations should be new, gift-wrapped articles, tagged with information about the contents, indicating size, age and for what sex. Gifts for men and teenage boys are especially needed. Gift suggestions in clude clothing, games, books, playing cards, cosmetics, candy, paints, ballpoint pens. Contributors are asked to leave their gifts at one of these locations : Katonah — Katonah Library, Phelps Pharmacy or Kay's Korner (A&P shopping center). South Salem — South Salem Library, Vista Pharmacy or Cross River Pharmacy. Mt. Kisco - Mt. Kisco Library, National Bank of Westchester, Joselyn Beauty Shop, Mt. Tent-n-Tow THORNWOOD — The Tent-n- Tow chapter of the National Campers and Hikers Associa tion will have its annual family Christmas party oh Friday, December 8, at Westlake High School. A pot luck supper will be served starting at 7 p.m. There will be entertainment and a visit from Santa Claus. Children attending are asked to bring an outdoor decoration for the Christmas tree which the club presents annually to Sunshine Cottage at Grasslands Hospital. The decorations may be designed to attract wild birds: strings of popcorn and cranberries, containers of pea nut butter, bird seed and suet. Orlowsky, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eli A. Orlowsky of Bear Mt. Road, Garrison, N.Y., completed a three-month deployment in the North Atlantic aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, homeported at Quonset Point, R.I. During this deployment, the Intrepid participated in a number of NATO exercises, including \Strong Express.\ He visited Copenhagen, Norway, The Netherlands, England and Scotland. OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Sgt. Dan F. Blanar, son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Blanar of Brewster, N.Y., took part in a recent exercise to test a long - haul communications system designed to provide emergency telephone, teletype and data relay communications service in a tactical situation. Santa at market PLEASANTVILLE — Santa Claus will arrive at the Grand Union, 35 Ossining Road here, December 16 at 10 a.m. He will give out balloons and candy from then until 2 p.m. Sgt. Blanar, a tele* communications systems specialist, and approximately 1,000 other members of the 3rd Mobile Communications Group of Tinker AFB, Okla., par ticipated in the two-week operation to prove the reliability of the tropospherlc scatter — sometimes called troposcatter — system, The test was run across a distance of 1,154 miles between the Oklahoma City headquarters and Phoenix, Ariz. The two terminal units and seven relay units operating in between covered the distance by bouncing ultra-high frequency signals back and forth off the six-mile-high ceiling of the earth's troposphere. The sergeant, a 1966 graduate of Carmel (N.Y.) Central High School, attended Berklee School of Music, Boston, Mass. His wife is the former Judi H. Hintz.
