Ask him or her to place an odd number in one . hand and an even number in the other (each hand must contain at least one coin). Y/ou then explain that by a simple calculation you will foretell which hand contains the eveh number of coins and which the odd number. Ask the spectator to multiply the number In his right hand by an odd figure and the number in his left hand by an even figure, and then tell you the product of these. If the result is an even number, the even number of coins is in.the right hand; if it is odd, the even number is in the left. Among grandfather's papers this bill was found: $ -67.9-, for 72 turkeys. The first and last digits that obviously represented the total price of these fowls are replaced here with blanks, for they have faded and are now illegible.
