Hugh Wilson of Eagle received a public service award from the American Radio Relay League for work ing with another amateur radio operator the previous winter to help rescue a motorist stranded in a snowstorm. Esther Hammond of Ar- Happy 8th Birthday Sidney Potmesil cade was honored by New York Telephone for her 35 years with the company. Herman Cobb’s general store in Farmersville was destroyed by fire. Winners of home lighting contests locally were the Donald Norton home in Ar cade and the Vedder Har rison home in Delevan. Richard Cartwright was honored for his 50 years with the A & A Railroad, of which he was president. Harvey Roll was elected m aster of Arcade Lodge, F & AM. All cars registered in New York State that were to be manufactured after January 1,1952 were required to have directional turn signals. Sandra P irdy Sandra Pirdyjoins Edmunds Enterprises Near the end of October, Sandra Dziedzic Pirdy joined the firm of Edmunds En terprises in Delevan. She will be assisting owner Richard Edmunds with income tax preparation and planning ana farm accounting, and is now being trained to prepare real estate appraisals as well. In addition, she will handle the extensive paperwork generated in the Business and operate the computer. Her background served to prepare her well for her as sociation with the firm, which specializes in dealing with farmers. The daughter of P at and Norman Dziedzic of Ar cade, she grew up on a dairy farm, and her husband, Ed ward, is also in the dairy business with her father. She believes this, along with hav ing served as the 1976 Wyo ming County Dairy Princess, provided her with under standing and knowledge of the special needs and prob lems of a rural agriculturally- oriented area. At Pioneer Central School, froin which she graduated in 1977, she majored in secrc-tanal science, and since then has also- taken several night classes in accounting, hook keeping and computers She was previously employed with the Village of Arcade ns a c''mor account clerk, where she- ublained experience in the billing department. Mrs. Pirdy and her hus band live in Arcade and have two children, Lee, 4, and Cassie, 2
